Owner/Head Trainer

Heather is the head trainer and owner of Canine Element. She began her career over a decade ago as a volunteer working with rescue dogs for an animal shelter. This hands-on experience fostered a deep-rooted passion, knowledge, and understanding of human-canine relationships. Since then, she's worked as a manager for a number of doggy daycares across the country, before her path led her to training dogs for a service dog organization. Here she joined their training team after completing an extensive 2-year apprenticeship program. She's trained service dogs to completion and lead their recipients through their two-week-long handler training programs to ensure the human-canine relationships are established and strong for the rest of their lives! Since then, she has worked with a wide variety of canines for high demand training such as sport, protection, odor detection, as well as behavior modification. She believes that at the core of each successful relationship lies clear communication.
